ALWAYS 100% ANONYMOUS
"WHAT YOU SEE, WHAT YOU HEAR, WHAT YOU KNOW .... CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!"
Hernando County Crime Stoppers was established in 2005 and is part of a world-wide organization. Operating under the Office of the Attorney General, this community-based non-profit program promotes increased cooperative efforts between citizens, law enforcement and the media. An all-volunteer board made up of residents and business persons oversees the local program of promoting citizen awareness, considering tips that have resulted in or contributed to an arrest/arrests, and approves the rewards. Citizen involvement is quite simply Law Enforcement's greatest asset. Everyone benefits from a Tipster's awareness and willingness to provide what could be a vital bit of information needed to prevent or solve a crime. The Hernando County Crime Stoppers program, following the footprint of the first case in 1976 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, continues to work to motivate citizens by offering rewards, to guarantee a Tipster is always 100% anonymous, and thus ensuring the success and protecting the integrity of the Crime Stoppers program.
